This is the authentic way of experiencing an African Safari. Camping
safari caters for budget travelers, for the young and the adventureous.
However, age is not a criterion, all that is needed is a sense of
humor, a willingness to participate and a spirit of adventure. It
provides authentic adventures in the African bush with nothing between
you and the animals at night apart from a sheet of canvas and the
embers of a dying fire. Another advantage of this safari is that you
will probably find yourself with travelers from the Four Corners of
the world. As one writer wrote "If you go to Africa without sleeping
under canvas or walking in Game Country, you've only been on Holiday
NOT on a safari".

colonial-style accommodations in favor of those with the best location,
value, atmosphere, and relationship with the local community. Many
of our preferred lodges and camps offer bush walks guided by local

Sweetwaters Camp
Observe wildlife at the waterhole from the private verandah of your
tent.
All tents at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp face a waterhole where numerous
animals regularly come to drink. In the evening, sit on your porch
and observe the animals move in and out of the shadows. Each tent
has twin beds and private en suite facilities. Optional activities
from the lodge include night game drives, walking safaris escorted
by a local ranger, bird walks with several hundreds species to observe,
horse back
riding and camel safaris.

Horse riding
Horse riding safaris on El Karama Ranch,
accompanied by a string of pack camels, with camping in a series
of beautiful wilderness locations. Location: El Karama Ranch is
a 14,000 acre cattle and wildlife ranch, situated between Mount
Kenya and the Great Rift Valley. With 75 identified species of mammal
and over 350 species of birds.
